The two press to turn the vehicle off is a bit of a niggle but you do get used to it. Electronic handbrake and auto hold is very fast a little noisy but you expect something to know it’s working. The 1.5 litre turbo is very responsive to the pedal combined with the automatic transmission which is extremely smooth and once it has learnt your driving style is not noticeable at all. Driving along around town and through car parks to going down the M1 require no effort. While not a rocket it still can keep up and merge nicely from the on ramp. For someone who drives around by themselves a lot of the time the size is good more the size of the older Hyundai ix35 and could easily fit 4 in the car with a suitcase or two with the seats reclined the boot isn’t too large but adequate to throw in some bags or the groceries. Apple CarPlay and android auto would be a welcome upgrade along with an electric tailgate but otherwise I could not fault the car at all.

HAVAL ran an ad campaign at one stage that said something like, "you'll love every drive'. I remember thinking, 'that sounds like classic ad spin. But I have to say, I do love every drive even after a year of ownership. I recently test drove the new H9 ULTRA and was really impressed. This may be our next family vehicle.
